Jim White
Managing Director, Sutter Hill Ventures
Jim White's investment focus includes consumer facing, enterprise application, and infrastructure solutions. Common to his investments are opportunities that have exceptional people and a compelling point of view on the marketplace and a unique value proposition. He currently serves on the board of Digital Chocolate, Farecast.com, Forterra Systems, Inquira, Networks in Motion (NIM), Object Reservoir, Radiance Technologies, Right Hemisphere, Satmetrix, Shutterfly, Streetline Networks and WebVisible and managed SHV's investment in Bix.com, Data Domain, Infinera and There.com (Makena Technologies). Mr. White received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from Harvard University.
Greg Martin
Founder, Archer Venture Capital
Greg Martin is the founder of Archer Venture Capital. Prior to founding Archer, Greg was a partner with Redpoint Ventures, a firm he joined in 1999. Prior to that, Greg was Associate with Brentwood Venture Capital.
Throughout his career, Greg has focused on early stage technology opportunities and has led investments in a variety of categories, including consumer internet, mobile applications, advertising platforms, enterprise software, digital media, semi-conductor and communications businesses. Greg is currently a Director of Leadpoint, WebVisible, 2tor, SocialVibe, Impact Radius, and LivePlanet. Previously, Greg led investments in Networks in Motion (sold to Telecommunication Systems) and TelASIC Communications (sold to MTI).
Prior to joining Brentwood Venture Capital, Greg worked with an angel investor focusing on early-stage internet and telecommunications investments. Previously, he was an investment banker with Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette's Technology Group and before that, with Smith Barney, focusing on cross border M&A and financing transactions. Greg has also owned and operated a high-end men's clothing franchise in the Los Angeles area.
Greg currently serves on the Board of the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) and is an Advisory Board member of the Tech Coast Angels and the San Diego Venture Group.
Greg is a Carter Scholar from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA. Greg also holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree, with concentrations in Information Systems and Accounting, from the University of Calgary.
Brad Jones
Director, Redpoint Ventures
Brad Jones is a founding partner of Redpoint Ventures. In addition, he is a general partner with Brentwood Venture Capital, a firm he joined in 1981. Mr. Jones focuses on semiconductor, wireless, Internet, and software opportunities in southern California. He is on the board of Stamps.com and a number of private companies. Mr. Jones also is a member of the Board of Trustees of the California Science Center Foundation. He received a BS in Chemistry and an MS in Physics from Harvard University, and also holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a JD from the Stanford School of Law.
Ted Smith
Director, FileNet Corporation
Ted Smith founded FileNet in 1982, and today remains a member of the Board of Directors. Previously, Mr. Smith was President and CEO of Basic Four Corporation and Executive Vice President and a Director of Sycor, Inc. He is Chairman of the Board of the MIND Institute, chairs the UC Irvine Foundation, and is a former chairman of the Chief Executive Roundtable at UC Irvine. He and his wife established the Ted and Janice Smith Family Foundation Dean's Chair in the Bren School of Information and Computer Science at UC Irvine. He formerly chaired the ICS Leadership Council, and in 2002, he received the UC Irvine Medal. Mr. Smith is also a member of the Board of Visitors at the University of Maryland, College of Engineering, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Maryland.
